Children’s Hospice Week

In your community, there is a place of joy, of laughter, of magic. It’s a place where every second, every minute, every hour, matters so much. It’s your local children’s hospice and it’s one of 54 across the UK.

Its #ChildrensHospiceWeek and we’re shining a light on the lifeline care hospices give to struggling families every single day. We’re calling on you to celebrate with us, and back our calls so that children’s hospices get the funding and support they need. Because together, we can make sure that every life, no matter how short it may be, is full of joy, of laughter, and of magic.

Short Lives Can't Wait

There are 99,000 children in the UK living with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition, and that number is growing every year. A patchy approach to funding from the NHS and local councils means hospices rely on the generosity of the public. Join us in our call to the UK’s governments to provide more support for seriously ill children and their families in your community.

At Little Havens, we don't have to fight. All my defences can come down. I am happy that we found this place. It's been a lifesaver. Every time I visit, we feel rejuvenated.

Support our work

Together for Short Lives mission is to support seriously ill children, their families, and the children’s hospices and palliative care services they rely upon. Through our work we:

  • Support families directly through our family support hub and helpline
  • We campaign on behalf of families to influence the government, including last year securing a £25 million hospice grant
  • Raise £millions of pounds each year alongside national partners like Morrisons, Center Parcs and Hobbycraft to directly fund local children’s hospices
  • Develop and support the development of best practice and pathways among palliative care professionals.
