Arlene Honeyman

Arlene is passionate for services to be responsive and matched to meeting the needs and aspirations of babies, children and young people with palliative care needs and their families.

She has many years’ previous experience working at a local and national level within England and throughout the UK alongside colleagues from the children’s and adult hospice movement.

Arlene’s professional background covers several disciplines, including: social work, community development and counselling. This has equipped her in developing an open and informed model of practice to draw upon.

Arlene has led two national services providing emotional, spiritual and social support to families and is currently developing a supportive care service at Ashgate Hospicecare, an adult hospice setting within Derbyshire.

Over recent years Arlene has developed and delivered resilience training across England and Scotland. Arlene presented this work at recent international palliative care conferences. Arelen is currently working towards developing a compassionate community model of service provision in North Derbyshire.
