Paul Obey

Paul Obey is a Trustee for Together for Short Lives.
Paul is a business consultant specialising in financial and operational matters in the real estate industry with specific focus on development, hotels, care homes and private hospital sectors. Additionally, Paul facilitates leadership training courses around the world for professionals in the financial industry.
Paul is a chartered accountant and previously has worked for a major investment bank in the City of London (for 13 years until 2009) and immediately following that set up a small privately-owned company involved in the retail sector until 2016.
Paul held a number of positions at the Royal Society for the Blind (Trustee, Treasurer and Vice Chair) from 2008 until 2014 assisting the charity through a significant property disposal programme, the acquisition of another charity working with blind and partially sighted people and the overall re-engineering of the strategic direction of the charity.
Paul presents a business show – On The Air with Paul Obey – on BBC Radio Kent and since 2006 has been Treasurer of Bromley Lawn Tennis Club.
Since April 2016, Paul has been involved with Together for Short Lives when he was initially co-opted onto the Finance and Governance Committee. Paul joined the Board of Trustees in December 2017. He is passionate about the role Together for Short Lives performs and a major motivation is to ensure the charity has a secure financial model thereby enabling the delivery of such important and much needed work.
